Notes Tab is built local-first. Your notes are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not synced to an account or a server, and the extension contains no analytics or tracking.
What the extension stores
Your tabs, note contents, and theme preference live in your browser only. Uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser data removes them. Use Export in Settings to keep your own backup.
Optional agent sharing
Agent sharing is off by default. When you turn it on and mark a note, that note is written as a plain file into a folder under your Downloads so a local AI agent on your own computer can read it. Notes you do not mark never leave your browser, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
This website
This site uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. PostHog stores an anonymous visitor identifier in your browser (using cookies and local storage) and records usage such as page visits, clicks, and other interactions. You can read how PostHog handles data at posthog.com/privacy. Notes Tab itself, the browser extension, contains no analytics or tracking and keeps your notes on your device.
